Title is pretty much self explanatory.

New subforum would be under Consumer Electronics.

I've noticed a distinct lack of an appropriate section that covers printers, scanners, MFDs and a host of other equipment people might be either looking forward to or already have, either for domestic or more professional usage.

I know LTT doesn't really cover this sort of equipment, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't either. There's questions that need answering, products that need to be blacklisted and whitelisted, recommended or shunned. Would be a nice place for photographers to share their two cents on photo printers (at least the ones that are a bit more oldschool and print their work)

So.... Essentially peripherals like they are now.

Peripherals now is keyboards, mice, mousepads, mouse bungees and the odd "gaming" chair or gamepad/controller

Imo anything you use as side device for pc falls under that subforum. And rest are OT.

I thought about this about a year ago and decided to wait and see how many threads are there about the said items. As it turned out, they are too rare for a dedicated subforum imo. No point in making one really.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

When I read this title, I had assumed the request would be for desks, chairs, and office furniture, rather than office peripherals, which can be covered in other sections of the forum.

Speaking of the above, the forum doesn't appear to have a dedicated section to discuss desks, office/gaming chairs, monitor mounts, and other furniture/equipment used in offices.

I suppose only The Workbench would be a place for such a subforum. Would this be something people would be interested in?

Chairs are currently in peripherals. Desks are either in peripherals (mainly motorized) or OT. Display mounts would imo fit both displays and peripherals. Any other furniture except wristrests would be OT (no real relation to tech). I can't think any office hardware which wouldn't fit under any current subforums.

Guess that works. I always considered peripherals as being something that connected digitally to a computer, so I would never associate non-tech independent objects such as desks, chairs, wrist rests, and other physical/furniture items as being peripherals, despite their association with technology.
