Going from PG978Q to x34 - Worth it?

darcris

I'm looking to ascend from the glorious PG278Q and the x34 has gained my attention. However it's quite expensive so I'm a little tentative in dropping such a large amount of money on one.

I've really come here to ask whether anyone here has moved from a 27" 1440p to a 35" monitor. Is it much of an upgrade and would it really be much of a difference in regards to screen real estate? I'm currently using 2 x 27" monitors which are different models and it's starting to frustrate me a little.

Any opinions are welcome! :)

Depends, what are you doing and can your PC handle the extra pixels in what you're doing?

Would you keep the monitors or sell them to help pay for the monitor? I personally cant see spending just as much on a monitor setup then your PC cost but to each his own, I see the appeal.

@Paralectic yes I am currently using an Asus PG278Q ROG Swift.

I'm running a 980Ti with an reasonably aged i5 4690 non-K CPU.

I'm looking to get a new rig once the 1080Ti is announced at CES in January. But I want to upgrade to a ultra wide screen monitor. I'm looking to sell my two current monitors to aid the purchase of my new one or if not, use my current rig and setup and 2nd gaming station with my current monitors once I upgrade.
