Hello, LTT Forums.

My friend is looking for a laptop, he actually has a pretty stern wishlist

He wants a:

- A 6th or 7th gen i7 cpu

- A USB 3.1 type-c Port, with thunderbolt and pcie support

- He wants it to be convertable

-  He wants an ssd, but capacity is not a huge deal, although more than 128GB is required

-At least 8GB RAM

- His budget is around $1300

Any suggestions? because i cant think of any nor can i find any

Yours is pretty close too, it's just that the other one seems better for only an extra $25

Seriously, no suggestions?

I was the first one to suggest a viable solution. Read above. @deXxterlab97 recommended the same thing. It's the only viable solution on the market at that price point. There is no other suggestion.

These two sites combined have every tb3 laptop listed:

Yeah i know that, what i meant is that the other guy got me really hyped up about the Lenovo  yoga 910, then disappointed me. What i mean is that would there be any sort of equivalent to the yoga that has a usb type-c with thunderbolt/pcie? i suppose not, well I might be able to persuade him to increase his budget to around $1500. Can anyone recommend a laptop at that price point?

Yes. found one but has no Type C

If an adapter doesn't bother you. Has Thunderbolt, i7 but the 6500u which is dual core iirc but 4K and has dedicated gpu

This is at $1900, i wont be able to convince him that far (he is indian, like me, so definitely no convincing him to spend $1900)

The only real issue is the 2 in 1. Not many of those come with tb3.
