Mobo for i7 6700k/GTX 1080/Corsair H115i that's not ASUS?

Omie

So I ordered an ASUS Z170 Gaming Pro AURA mobo for the i7 6700k, Gtx 1080, and Corsair H115i water cooler.

I have been hearing issues where every person who has an ASUS mobo struggles with a loose backplate on Corsair water coolers. This causes their CPU to heat up due to the CPU block not being able to contact properly because of the looseness. There have also been a lot of issues with xmp profiles not working on ASUS mobos.

So I am looking for another mobo that is around the same price as mine but is not from ASUS and also doesn't have xmp issues.

That looks like a good board. Is that their latest revision? Because there is also a G1 Gaming version.

Also, does the board have LED's? Cause I'm doing a red/black theme and I'm on edge about the white on the board lol. But it does have some red/black which is nice.

np @dj-lucas

I'm basing it off a review on Amazon though. A guy said

"The board started up and functioned great, But there is a problem with the fit when using a Corsair h115 closed loop cooler. The back plate bosses protrude through the board too far and cause the pump not to tighten properly. I'm guessing the back plate needs work, but who knows?"

IK, meant this as a solution to other mobo incompatibilities with the H115i

H110i worked fine on my Asus Maximus VIII Hero (Skylake)...

Also, about the Gigabyte Z170X Gaming 7, I replaced it with the Hero. Why? Shitty audio, shitty BIOS, and the input lag was atrocious. I may have received a faulty unit, but eh.

Yeah I heard gigabyte mobos are shit for overclocking too, so I'm sticking with Asus.

Was your backplate loose at all BEFORE you installed the pump on ur H110i? I hear a lot of people complaining about a loose backplate but after the pump is installed the backplate becomes secure. And was ur H110i the GT or GTX version?

GT. Backplate was loose as fuck before mounting the block. Even with the standoffs installed, it only tightened when I secured the block, and I did torque the screws quite a bit.

I'm on a custom loop now, so I can't provide much more information.
