Various people who have reviewed it basically concluded it's a borderline scam in that while it probably does what it claims it'll do, it uses scare tactics. For example, if you use MyCleanPC on a brand new, fresh install of Windows with nothing else installed, it picks up "hundreds of problems." Except almost all of those problems are benign and range anything from stale registry entries (which do nothing) to files in the temp folder. But the average joe doesn't know that. They just see big red letters that tell them their computer has problems!

I'm sure you might've seen a shady mechanic try the same thing. "WELL WE NEED TO CHANGE YOUR AIR FILTER, OTHERWISE YOU'RE MPG WILL DROP LIKE A FLY AND CLOG UP YOUR ENGINE. WE'LL FIX THAT FOR YOU FOR $100".

Just do a full system scan with your AV app (Windows Defender or others).

There is more that meets the eye

As it seems everyone is trying to troll you, VulkanRT is a graphics API similar to OpenGL. However, it was designed to have less "overhead" than other APIs. It is possible that a form of malware could be masquerading as VulkanRT, but I seriously doubt it. The best way to be sure is to run a scan through an antivirus software such as Avast or AVG as well as anti malware such as MalwareBytes.

Here is a video detailing the Vulkan API if you're interested! :D

  • 3 months later...

All false positives since as the OP was told those files are related to the vulkan API run time.

Report them to the AV vendor (which I'm guessing is microsoft which seems to be a conspiracy considering it's a competing API).
