Windows 8.1 Updates

I'm guessing that it's more RNG if updates are picked up quickly or not as my refurb desktop with windows 8.1 did take a while to go through the checking for updates phase, but after the initial update load finally completed the time taken to check for updates dropped significantly.

 

If it doesn't get any better, there are "fixes" for the issue but there is a chance that none of them will work as I've seen some try to fix this issue but ended up with any of the fixes not working (which is why I stated that RNG might be a factor in this update lottery).

Yeah.... leaving my computer on for about 9 hours seemed to get them!

It's a custom built computer, that I loaded the OS onto as well.
