I installed corsair sp120 fans to the Hyper212evo. I'm getting much lower temperatures.

pseven21

So here are the parts in my computer:

  • Intel i5 4670k @ 4.0ghz (1.190v)
  • Cooler Master Hyper 212 evo
  • ASRock Extreme3 z87
  • 8gb (2x4gb) Crucial ballisitx RAM 1600mhz
  • 120gb Samsung 840 evo SSD
  • 500W Corsair CX semi modular
  • Corsair 300R mid-tower case

The reason I bought these fans was mostly for aesthetic purposes, and for better performance.

Here is what my PC looked like BEFORE (with stock fans):

-I was getting Idle temperatures of 37C and max temperatures of 75C under load.

Here is what my PC looks like AFTER (with sp120's):

performance edition! I set fans speeds to go up according to CPU temperature (35%@40C, 50%@50C, 75%@60C) so they're not very loud, until the CPU is under load. But I don't really mind the sound.

That's awesome! I thought the only grommet's I could buy were the 800D ones that were $16, which was a bit pricey for me.

Thanks for showing me, i'm definitely going to get the grommets now.

That's what I thought too. I even asked Corsair support if the 350D kit would work but of course I got the generic "Get the 600T/*00D kit". The kit for the 350D is only $4 plus shipping that's why I picked up the HDD tray upgrade and 2 drive trays since I the shipping wasn't really any different.

Nice idle... is that lowest possible on lowest core or really average after some time on desktop? I mean I get stable 35C on U14S and not making it blow at full speed.
