Hey guys,

Here's what I have:

Windows 7 Professional

Video card:         NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GS

Processor:           AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Cual Core Processor 4200+  2.20GHz

Ram:                      4.00 GB

System type:     64-bit Operating system

I'm getting into 3d rendering, motion graphics, video editing and such and currently using Cinema 4d, After Effects, Premiere, etc.....I noticed that my computer will start to slow down quite a lot and sometimes it would close the program altogether.

- Is the set up I have too outdated for what I want to do?

- Is there anyway to fix this without having to build a new computer, if so, what do I need?

- Or, is it simply better to build a new computer?

Thank you

If you really do intensive 3d stuff i'd go with a completely new system as yours is all old and outdated. But i guess you could get a nice system for your purpose at a fairly cheap pricepoint (~500-600$)

Gaming HTPC:

R5 5600X - Cryorig C7 - Asus ROG B350-i - EVGA RTX2060KO - 16gb G.Skill Ripjaws V 3333mhz - Corsair SF450 - 500gb 960 EVO - LianLi TU100B

Desktop PC:
R9 3900X - Peerless Assassin 120 SE - Asus Prime X570 Pro - Powercolor 7900XT - 32gb LPX 3200mhz - Corsair SF750 Platinum - 1TB WD SN850X - CoolerMaster NR200 White - Gigabyte M27Q-SA - Corsair K70 Rapidfire - Logitech MX518 Legendary - HyperXCloud Alpha wireless

Boss-NAS [Build Log]:
R5 2400G - Noctua NH-D14 - Asus Prime X370-Pro - 16gb G.Skill Aegis 3000mhz - Seasonic Focus Platinum 550W - Fractal Design R5 -
250gb 970 Evo (OS) - 2x500gb 860 Evo (Raid0) - 6x4TB WD Red (RaidZ2)

Wow dude my brothers have my old system and its a peice of crap and the specs are slightly better than yours. For video editing and 3D work your system is far to outdated to even run the software. if its closing randomly you're probably running out of ram. Also your never going to be able to do anything serious on that system because everything will take 3 years to render.

3D rendering is very processing intensive (GPU and CPU) if you want to use modern programs you need to have a fairly up to date computer. Sadly there is not much I can think to do to improve your current build.

Yeah, go for a upgrade. From what I know, a 7000GS is not a professional card it is? It was a older gaming card right? I actully have no idea about SOME of the older cards.

To love is to risk not being loved in return. To hope is to risk pain. To try is to risk failure, but risk must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.

Thanks everyone for the replies.

So, what would you guys recommend if I were to build a whole new system from scratch?....    I like Intel CPUs, WD drives....

Let me know everything I'll need and make sure it's all compatible.

Thanks again.

What parts you need depends on what specifically you want/need to do with the build compared to how much you can spend. Start a new thread in the 'New Builds and Planning" sub-forum. Ask for help with new build, list your use case, your budget and if you need peripherals (monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc).

Depends on your budget and what you do on the system as well as on what scale the projects you're working on are.
