this is my spec : 

cpu : amd fx 6300 6 core

graphics card : gtx 760

Mobo :  MSI 760GM-P23 (FX) AM3+ AMD 760G + SB710 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

psu : i forgot wich 1 exactly but its like a 700+w

ram : just regular ddr3 6gb

monitor: asus 144hz

 

what graphics card should i get? someone told me gtx 960 or a r9 280x. please help me

I would suggest getting a new CPU before a GPU. But the 1060/480s are good budget cards

Just keeping this here as a Budget? Dont buy a 960 new, poor value now, a 1050ti or 470 would be best.

Something like a R9 280X used, or a new RX460 will match your CPU pretty well.

I'm pretty sure a RX 470 or better will make your CPU bottleneck. But, a RX460 won't have the power to get enough FPS to take advantage of your monitor.

So maybe get a RX 470 or 480 now and upgrade your CPU when Zen comes out?

Get a 470, or if you have extra get a 480 or 1060 3gb (whatever is cheaper), any of these will probably bottleneck your 6300, but think of it as a investment for the future. Then upgrade your CPU later.

Get a 480 4gb or 1060 3gb then, get the cheaper one. If you're going for a 480, I recommend the Sapphire Nitro +, Sapphire cards are always solid.

you can get an rx 470 4gb Armor OC for $150 after rebates, i'd recommend that and prepare for an upgrade to an fx 8xxx/i5. if you can spend $5 more there's the G1 gaming rx 480 8gb for $205 after rebates.
