Is hdmi over coax cable better than cat6

Hi,

Just enquirying about if coax has a higher transfer speed for extending my hdmi signal from my pc without lagg/stuttering at 60hz. Ive tried cat6 extenders but had horrible lagg when playing games and even navigation on my desktop.

Cheers.

I'd guess HDMI over Cat6 would be better, maybe you just got some crappy extenders?

Mind linking the extenders you got if you had purchased them online and can still find them?

Also, what resolution were you trying to push through it?

Are you running it through any routers or ethernet switches? Or just directly from one repeater to the other?

Directly at 1080p

Directly

" Frequency bandwidth: 2.25Gpbs (single link) "

So the repeaters can do up to 2.25Gbps (I'd guess they made a typo)

At 1080p, with a refresh rate at 30Hz, and a 10-bit color depth, it'd require 2.24Gbps. For 60Hz, double that.

Even 1080p 60hz with 8-bit color depth would require 3.73Gbps.

So those repeaters are too crappy to be able to handle anything over 30Hz at 1080p with at most 10-bit color.

^^ What @TheKDub said.

In this case, it's not the cable in question (although Cate 5e or Cat6 will definitely be better than coax).

If you're using extenders, it's always the conversion ability of the extenders that will be the bottleneck.

Find some better ones or lower your refresh rate to 30Hz for now.

Might have to move up to 4k cat 6extenders https://www.jaycar.com.au/hdmi-uhd4k-over-1-x-cat5e-6-70m-with-ir-extender/p/AC1736 just found this as an example

Those would likely work much better than what you have now.

http://www.4cabling.com.au/hdmi-over-single-cat6-extender.html?utm_source=google_shopping&gclid=CKXyjbfG0dACFQuavAodXh0OvA Hey TheKdub is this capable to transmit  1080p  60hz and 32bit colour at a distance of 20m?

If they're not lying about the 6.75 Gbps maximum bandwidth, then it should handle 1080p @ 60Hz just fine HOWEVER if my calculations are correct, then even that would only support 12-bit colour at most.

Hmm its hard to find  a good retailer in Australia, for hdmi extenders. I've just browsed ebay and found this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HDMI-Over-Single-CAT6-Extender-w-IR-control-Transmitter-Receiver-for-TV-DVD-PC-/120961275274?hash=item1c29da958a:g:Eb4AAOSw44BYPK~f  It says " Supports 1080p at 50/60hz"
