Hey so I have taken some advice and come up with this build. Let me know what you all think. I think it fits nicely in the under 600$ category for what I want, with some cool features.

get the rx 480 4gb at this price, its performs better and 3gb of vram isn't enough anymore. get the cx550m instead of the evga 500b for better performance and quality.

Okay so what I need to know is

Is it better to upgrade to gtx 1060 6gb or an intel core i5 6500? Assuming if I dont upgrade one or the other I have the RX480 or the Intel core I3 6100?

Some modern games - GTA V for example - and most MMOs, require extra CPU power to run smoothly, so you might want get the i5-6500 instead of the i3-6100. I wouldn't consider the i5-6400 because it's low clock speed means it's not much of an upgrade over the i3.

The RX 480 works almost as well as the GTX-1060, so given the choice, I'd go for the i5 + RX.

In any case, I'd suggest you consider getting 2x 4Gigs RAM (or 2x 8Gig) rather than a single 8Gig stick. 8Gigs is actually "enough" and dual-channel RAM access is better than single channel.

A sieve may not hold water, but it will hold another sieve.

i5-6600, 16Gigs, ITX Corsair 250D, R9 390, 120Gig M.2 boot, 500Gig SATA SSD, no HDD
