first time build! plox help

SirYanthon

this is what ive got so far: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GPTWzM

note it says there are incompatabiities, thats just that i might need to update the bios, however: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HM0Ipk6i8tA&ab_channel=TechDeals according to him i wont have to worry about that.

i need to choose a powersupply and a case. also, theres the matter of i plan on adding HDD's later, and the small posibility of adding anouther gtx1080 later for sli, and idk if id be ok with the cable that come with, or if i should go ahead and get some cablemod cables instead. any and all suggestions apprecieted! i need to have it done by the end of the night tho to get cyber monday deals

You don't have a CPU cooler, PSU, or case

All PSUs come with cables for everything and at least 2 8-pin PCIe cables.

CPU cooler: You have to decide air or liquid cooling and give us a budget. We'll help from there.

PSU: Need to choose all your other parts first and if you plan to upgrade in the future + budget. PSU comes down to personal brand sometimes in the end. DO NOT buy an unreliable PSU. Check out the PSU Tier list.

Case: Color scheme, budget, and aesthetics. This is more of a "you choose, we approve" category.

Skyggeis Specs:

Sorry, I'm thinking an all in one water cooler so I don't have to mess with pipes and such.

Color scheme: all the colors xD

budget, ideally under 1500, but max of 2000 if necessary

1. Why AIO water?

2. All the colors is quite unspecific.

3. Is that for the whole PC?

because i dont want to mess with pipes, and as long as its of reliable quality i figured it would be better than air, especially for overclocking.

yes, yes it is, meaning i dont care about color scheme

and yes for the whole pc

1. Er... water isn't always better than air. And AIOs have pipes. You risk a leak too with AIOs.

2. You should choose a color scheme. It helps us narrow down stuff. There are a lot of "good" products out there.

3. What about mouse, keyboard, and monitors?

Well, if you can find a good air cooler, id be cool with that; and i have all my peripherals already. Well, my ram is blue, and i was thinking id make the controlable LED's in the GPU green, and the MOBO red, so maybe any of the colors I dont have yet, such as yellow, or purple. Rainbow Rig xD

You have a good monitor? It'd be a shame to run a 1080 at 1080p. Also... why do you need a 6800K? Do you video edit and stuff?

Also, you might have to BIOS update with that board. Meaning you'll need a native X99 CPU for that board. Or get a different board.

I read it. You can update via USB. Do that then. I didn't bother to watch the video. This is what I would recommend:

PCPartPicker part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bttJgL
Price breakdown by merchant: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bttJgL/by_merchant/

CPU: Intel Core i7-6800K 3.4GHz 6-Core Processor  ($379.99 @ Newegg)
CPU Cooler: CRYORIG H5 Universal 65.0 CFM CPU Cooler  ($46.88 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: Asus X99-A II ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard  ($204.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory  ($93.99 @ Jet)
Storage: Crucial MX300 525GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($99.99 @ Amazon)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($48.89 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 1080 8GB STRIX Video Card  ($678.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Case: Phanteks ECLIPSE P400 ATX Mid Tower Case  ($49.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: Corsair RMx 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply  ($74.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $1678.70

MX300 isn't the fastest, but you wanted it. Replaced 212X Turbo with H5 Universal (you can buy ultimate if you don't mind blocking a ram slot). You actually might not need to BIOS update. Added a 1TB HDD, but you might need more for video storage. This system is probably totally WAYYYYYY overkill for what you do, but whatever. And please capitalize properly. That is all. *sigh*

trust me, this is not overkill at all. I will be redering full 3-4 hour highly edited movies, making full albums,  and countless other things. in fact, id say its modest for my use. and there is no reason for you to be rude rn. i dont have time for capitalization, or for your attitude.
