Can't update Windows 7

Does anyone know how to get the Updater to Work. It does absolutely nothing with LAN usage in task manager. Old installation, don't want to reinstall. Last update in history 6/5/16 Windows update KB3118401. Computer sat after that. Still gets MSE updates. Update troublshooter does nothing but sit there like Windows Update.

This is a old installation from disk. Got it to update. Had to go to MS web sight get 2 stand alone updates. KB3020369 & one of these KB3135445. Now the updater is working. There are videos on You Tube about it. Who would know that. It's not made clear.
