GTX 950 as low as 5% in CSGO, as high as 20% BF4

I recently made a major upgrade to an MSI GTX 950 and while this card benchmarks CS:Go at 250 fps on high settings at 1080p, keeping my settings at all lowest I'm only getting 50 fps max. After troubleshooting I found my gpu usage is only at about 5% average on csgo and probably only once reaching 10% and only topping off at 25% playing Battlefield 4

My windows power settings are set to High Performance and so are my Nvidia settings.

My system specs before someone asks:

CPU: AMD A4-5300

RAM: 16 GB DDR3 Dual Channel

GPU: MSI Geforce GTX 950

PSU: EVGA 500 Watt power supply

I know my CPU is sub par and it will be upgraded soon but I have eliminated CPU bottleneck being a factor

I have used DDU to uninstall drivers and installed new ones multiple times, and I have reseated the card.

I would really like to get this fixed so I can use my new graphics card to it's full potential instead of running at 30 fps

Anything you think might help is appreciated

your processor is the bottle neck.

and not to leave you hanging here is the small example

http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i3-6100-vs-AMD-A4-5300-APU/3511vsm3554

http://www.cpu-world.com/Compare/267/AMD_A4-Series_A4-5300_vs_Intel_Core_i3_i3-6100.html

so if you want to use your gpu max power, you will have to get a stronger cpu

dont forget i am only comparihgt to a 130$ i3 processor. so your processor is probably on par with pentium g4400

http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Pentium-G4400-vs-AMD-A4-5300-APU/3539vsm3554

Never mind, not even (thats the most budget intel processor)

I know the CPU is shit and needs to be upgraded, that is the next thing to be bought, money is tight. The CPU is not running at full load while gaming. I would love to at least get me GPU functioning for the time being, you know? I actually run BF4 rather decently but could run it way better if I can sort this out.

As said, you are hitting a cpu bottleneck. You are going to have to upgrade to a more powerful cpu, likely requiring a new motherboard and potentially new ram, if you want to flex all the muscle that graphics card has.

What would you recommend for a decent budget AMD FM2 socket CPU, if I had a bigger budget I would love to overhaul this but sadly can not

sorry to tell you but even if you cpu isnt running at max, simply put it your single core performance it really bad, so even if you got g4400 which is sape price and everything you would see improvment. i think

I'm playing 1280x1024 on csgo, as I play best on stretched and am not that willing to change that.

I am playing 720 on Battlefield 4

Can you increase your resolution with BF4 to 150%? Giving more work to the GPU may help you get more out of it for now.

well ill be honest with intell g4400 is cheap and they never let me down, espeacially at resolution you play, i had g4400 and 750ti and i was playing all at 1080p cs getting 200 fps (not that u need it on 60 fps monitor but (league over 300fps) rust i was pulling 60-70 fps almost maxed out and i am sure BF1 will run on medium. but check youtube benchmarks you will find much more

Honestly I would love to get Intel because I can find some great deals on Intel but that requires me getting a new board because my PC was originally built as part of a class and the teacher for some reason had us get a Mini ATX with a shitty socket lmao

thats not hard either, the cheapest and the best one i heard AND used is

Msi H110M PRO-VH Intel H110

And if you are Super lucky you might even find a bundle, but seeing how you might have ddr3 memory might have trouble there

UPDATE: Turning settings way up to make more of my GPU have to be utilized in BF4 worked extremely well. Wish I could say the same for CSGO

Mind running in borderless windowed and having MSI Afterburner up? I'd like you to see how temps and usage are for the CPU and GPU.

Playing borderless my gpu temp was about 40 and my cpu was low to mid 30s topping off at 40 (Celsius)

GPUs don't really get too hot when only 7% is being used lmao

and my CPU has never had any kind of heat problem

So far, is it just CSGO that's giving you less usage?

Mind if I ask you to put your CPU's minimum power to 60% or higher?

P.s. You can find the option in the power settings.
