Go with the AMD rig. There is more graphics power. But give build 2 the R4 and the CX 600M instead of the Rosewill Hive 2.

For one, if all you're playing are games like League or Starcraft, you can get a much cheaper system that will still do the job well.

If you ever need help with a build, read the following before posting: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/3061-build-plan-thread-recommendations-please-read-before-posting/

These are too different to be easily comparable, the budgets don't line up not to mention one has windows where the other doesn't.

Here is a suggested compromise as a best of both

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU:  AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core Processor  ($153.60 @ Outlet PC)

CPU Cooler:  Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler  ($29.98 @ Outlet PC)

Motherboard:  Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 ATX AM3+ Motherboard  ($114.99 @ NCIX US)

Memory:  Team Vulcan 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  ($64.98 @ Amazon)

Storage:  Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk  ($98.99 @ Mac Mall)

Storage:  Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($59.99 @ NCIX US)

Video Card:  MSI Radeon R9 280X 3GB Video Card  ($303.98 @ SuperBiiz)

Case:  Fractal Design Define R4 w/Window (Black Pearl) ATX Mid Tower Case  ($89.99 @ Newegg)

Power Supply:  SeaSonic M12II 850W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply  ($69.99 @ Newegg)

Total: $986.49

(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

You can change to the PowerColor 7970 if you'd like to save a bit more extra.

biased much?

What he says is true, albeit for SC2 you kind of need at least a decent processor, league of legends can run off of iPhone hardware.

also this (to a non-extreme degree)

it's never bad to overbuild.

The system I suggested should have no problems doing whatever you want it to do and will be crossfire ready in the future.

Error: 410

Erm... I don't think that is what the meaning of a biased opinion is. He was just saying that you wouldn't need such a high end rig to play the games you are. Still, it's never bad to overbuild.
