I can no longer see a bluetooth option in Device Manager. However, when I tried downloading and installing a new driver, I received a message that said that I already had the latest driver, thus a new one could not be installed. I'm not sure how to access this driver. Help?

What kinda adapter you are using? Is it integrated with mobo or USB? Laptop? The device might have been disconnected. So you need to remove it, replug and reboot. This will make Windows find it again and ask for drivers.

No adapter. I went off the assumption that my laptop came with Bluetooth capability, as that was quoted in the original build specs. I'm just trying to connect my wireless headphones to my laptop. If I do need an adapter, that information would be appreciated.

Laptop model? If you can't find Bluetooth in device manager, it might not have built-in. Also which OS are you running with?

XPS 15 9550. Also let me clarify my original statement: what I meant by not being able to see bluetooth in Device Manager anymore was that I tried to uninstall and reinstall the driver, but I'm pretty sure I screwed up in the process. Running Windows 10.

Thats odd. Device manager should show all devices which are active and connected. Can you access laptops BIOS and connect /disconnect bt from there? Another option is to repair OS.

Click the notification icon on the bottom right corner of the screen, turn bluetooth on. Click all settings and then go to devices>bluetooth.
