Can I push 4K????

Go to solution Solved by Zodiark1593,

Medium settings tend to be the best value as far as visuals go. If you can crack 60 frames at medium settings and 4K, you will likely be a happy gamer. The 1070 should be capable of this.

Just got a 43" Visio 4K smart tv from Black Friday for my setup. Looking at my signature, do you think I can do dual monitors 4K? My 1070 should be fine right? If I need to SLI to push 4k I'll start saving for that, but really I just want to do 2 monitor 4k. Now the only problem that arises is that my second monitor is an element 1080p 42". Thoughts? Bad idea? Should I just use the 4k and use the older tv for side tasks? If you had my setup what would you personally do?

Here are my specs:

  • CPU: Intel - Core i7-8700K 6-Core Processor OC @ 5.0ghz
  • Cooler: Cooler Master - Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
  • Motherboard: Asus - Prime Z370-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard

you wont be maxing out all the games at 4K but it will be verry playable at about medium :)

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Your 1070 should be able to play most games at medium or so settings at 4k. I would not recommend 2 monitor gaming because your crosshair will be between the two screens and it is just weird.

Fair point, I might just try it once and see if I like it. So how do you know if you're running a game at 4k or at 1080? The resolution, right? So if it starts to lag, I would just turn the resolution down or adjust some graphical settings?

If you want to game above 30 FPS, no, it won't be enough.

I was able to run dirt 3 on ultra at 4k with my 390. idk the fps. I didn't monitor it. 30 fps is pretty okay imo. (long term console gamer here) but just turning down to medium or low should do you good. i have an i5 older than your i7. locked. stock heat sync.
