Cyber Monday Gaming PC Building Help ($1000-1300 USD)

Omie

So with cyber Monday coming up, I was planning to build a new gaming PC.

I want to be able to max out all current games at at least 60fps in 1080P. I would also like a monitor/OS/optical drive included in the build if possible and for it to be an Intel/nVidia based build.

My budget is around $1000-1300 USD and was wondering if I'll be able to afford something during a cyber Monday sale (or if there are any good sales right now) which fits my needs described above.

Would anyone be willing to help me with creating a build?

Thanks!

That is a great build, and will do even 1440p at 60FPS on ultra settings ( at least in 95% of the games).

OP, go with that build and you are golden!

So are any of these on sale right now, or are they going to get cheaper come cyber Monday?

And I just realized I already have a monitor from my old build (BenQ GW2255 60Hz). But I was also wondering if it would be worth it to get a 120 Hz monitor to play games at above 60 fps so I don't use Vsync and risk dropping below 60 fps.

144Hz is great if you're into fast paced fps games like CSGO. And don't use Vsync.

Unfortunately it looks like I waited too long and the $299 i7 6700k was sold out. I was initially planning on waiting till Cyber Monday to buy the parts but I guess the sale started early and I missed out.

Also, I may need a 144Hz monitor because my current 60Hz monitor gets bad screen tears if I don't use Vsync, however I'm not sure if that is because of my system or the monitor itself.

If you wait further the other discounted parts might run out as well.

There should be a few 144Hz monitors for under $220.

Can you recommend me a good 144Hz monitor that I can buy under the $220 price that you mentioned?

Also, I heard that the motherboard does not support SLI and that a lot of people are complaining in the reviews about the BIOS freezing up and having problems with the motherboard in general. In the future if I want to go SLI, I want to be able to without buying a new motherboard. I also want a more reliable motherboard and don't want things such as BIOS freeze ups, etc.

Is there a better motherboard you can recommend for me? I don't mind spending a few extra bucks.

Wasn't aware of those issues, I've read good reviews on that board but if you insist then here are better ones:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Ultra Gaming ATX LGA1151 Motherboard  ($130.98 @ Newegg)

^red LEDs

Motherboard: Asus Z170 PRO GAMING ATX LGA1151 Motherboard  ($121.99 @ Newegg)

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD3 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard  ($115.98 @ Newegg)

Motherboard: MSI Z170A KRAIT GAMING 3X ATX LGA1151 Motherboard  ($119.99 @ B&H)

For monitor:

Monitor: AOC G2460PQU 24.0" 144Hz Monitor  ($209.99 @ Newegg)

^If you want adjustable stand

Monitor: Acer GN246HL 24.0" 144Hz Monitor  ($188.83 @ B&H)

Thanks! I'm almost prepared to order. Here is what I have so far:

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/PppjN

However, I couldn't find the Asus Z170 PRO GAMING for $121.99 on Newegg. It says like 169.99.

Btw, I also swapped out the SSD with an A-Data one cause the one you recommended didn't have any reviews on it, so I was uneasy with ordering.

The Asus Pro Gaming is out of stock on newegg.

Please keep the SK Hynix SSD, if I were to pick one that isn't an 850 EVO - I'd get the Hynix or Crucial MX300.

Oh ok will do.

There is a board called Asus pro gaming that is in stock but it says AURA instead of ATX. Do you know what that means?

It's the newer version of that same board with added LED.

Oh ok. I'll just get that then if the other board is still out of stock.

Also, if I buy the OS from the site you suggested, how do I go about installing from a new build it if I won't have a physical disc?
