All USB 3.0 and Analogue audio ports stopped working

As the title suggests. Plugging anything into the usb 3.0 or audio ports (on the front or back IO panel) does absolutely nothing, Realtek Audio doesn't recognize any input and neither does Windows. They've worked fine for almost 2 years but all of a sudden they're bricked. All the usb 2.0 ports still work fine so I'm guessing it's something to do with the drivers.

Here's what I've tried:

  • Checking all relevant cables from the front panel are still properly connected to the motherboard (the back IO is part of the motherboard)
  • Updating all audio, motherboard and usb drivers to the latest versions
  • Reverting all audio, motherboard and usb drivers to the versions I got in the motherboard box
  • Googling it
  • Praying to Gaben

All of them have given the same result: nothing

If anyone has ideas as to what could be going wrong and how I could solve it I'd greatly appreciate it, thanks

Check BIOS that they are not disabled. If not boot a live Linux USB or DVD and check if your ports are working there.
If they also don't work in Linux I'd say that the hardware is actually broken.
