Can I do the first installation without a cd/dvd reader?

 

Hi, I want to build a pc and still in the process of finding the piece. I wanted to know if I can do the first installation without a cd/dvd reader?

If you're talking about installing windows, yes. Just create a bootable usb then after you get your system built plug that in and boot off of it. You will be able to install Windows from the USB onto your SSD or HDD all you will need is the Windows key to activate your version of Windows.

Yes, you can. Head over to Microsoft's website for the Windows 10 ISO. You'll need an 8GB or larger flash drive and a working USB slot on the back of your motherboard.

so ill be using the Sapphire RX 480

• Make sure you create the USB before building the PC.
• Make sure you have at least downloaded the LAN/WIFI drivers for the motherboard... many people get caught out with this and figure that they'll be OK, believe me you WON'T. Sure you could get the drivers afterward by using someone else's PC or even a phone (phone is much harder BTW), but just be prepared for the build... it goes much smoother if you're prepared and have a plan.
