Laptop RAM swap

Hello everybody

 

I was wondering whether I can swap RAM on my laptop. I have ASUS X551CA-SX024D, whilst looking on the net I found that some X551CA laptops have soldered RAM to the motherboard. Where can I check if mine is too? (ASUS manuals are of no help)

Go to crucial.com and plug in your laptop make and model in the crucial advisor tool.

well that's it then, unless you got some serious tools that can re solder ram chips, your stuck with what you've got until you upgrade.

Thanks for confirming this  it saved me 40+ euros on new RAM  

 

P.S. How can I close this thread/label it as answered? Or Mods do that?
