Not Hyperthreaded?

So I have a supposed hyper threaded Xeon cpu its a E5 26xx series that is supposed to be 10 cores and 20 threads but it shows only 10 threads as well as cores any ideas on why it is doing this?

cpu is xeon e5 2666 v3 the board is Gigabyte x99 ud3p, and windows 10 64bit

Check Windows Device Manager. You should see 20 logical processors.

yes but before it was perfectly fine and showed 20 but I haven't done anything

Thats your problem

 

Did you see it show 20, or was it the seller? THe seller may have shown a different chip.

no I pulled up cpuid and it said 20

So cpuid says 20 threads and task manager shows 10?

 

Yep hyperthreading is bad on the chip,.
