Have you tried talking to Microsoft support? They have a fance live chat that can probably help you out.

Windows 10 Enterprise requires a special server to activate, which is not the ordinary the normal activation server for Home and Pro.

So unless you have an organisation that hosts a server like that, you might be better off actually switching to a Home or Pro license.

The company is responsable for the install, and weather the key actually works. Its not your key, its the companies. You need to go to that company (AKA the "Organizion") in order to fix the problem.

Also, to "Switch" you need to buy a new license.

Computers r fun

As far as I know, it is not possible just like that. You'd have to purchase a new license and do a fresh install of the OS.

It matters because large corporations buy licenses by like the 100's. To my understanding Enterprise version of Windows dont need product keys. You can install them up to the limit of how many licenses you own. Microsoft periodically comes in to audit.

Funny story. When I was going to community college for my first degree. I had a fellow classmate who worked for Borders. They kinda installed over the number of licenses they had bought. I guess Microsoft let them off easy and they were able to buy more licenses.

My guess is Microsoft requiring a special server for activation's is so you dont install too many copies of Windows.

I suggest that you look at the Pro version of Windows 10. You can defer non security updates. Which might be helpful for when Microsoft updates decided to fuck up and screw a lot of people over.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
