When switching over from one tab to a tab where a YouTube video is, It stutters and freezes for 1 second and then the video resumes. The audio however is still playing, just the video has stuttered. Not sure what happened

That's an issue with your GPU, try restarting first then if it still occurs clear all your browser history, cache & other offline data (except saved passwords). Other then that you could try performing a clean install of your GPU drivers.

Depending on how long you were on the other tab it might be a case of the browser swapping the visual components of the website out of memory whilst you weren't viewing it and then reloading them again when you swapped back to it. I've noticed this behaviour a bit with both Chrome and Waterfox, it even happens to some extent when you have multiple windows of a browser and the youtube isn't the active window. Probably just a thread priority thing.

Hello, thanks for the reply but this just happened recently for some odd reason. I did some tests where I switched within 2-3 seconds and it was still showing signs of this. I also did this test on a livestream on twitch but there were no "catch ups" or stutters.

Won't know until you give it a try, that's my best bet though.

after uninstalling, where can I go to get the newest display drivers

Include in your next reply the exact name of your graphics card & I'm sure someone can help direct ya where to go & what to do. Unfortunately I've gotta go so good luck & I hope it all turns out well. I'll check back here tomorrow & offer any other input I can.

Thanks, I just finished reinstalling and the problem is still there sadly. Did some extra research, does not happen on firefox or other web browsers. Reinstalled chrome and did not fix it. Not sure what I can do but I narrowed it down to Chrome.

I've been using FF for almost a decade now so I highly recommend switching to it or at very least whenever you're watching YouTube.
