I have heard multiple claims as to "Safe voltage" for the 6700k skylake I7.

Does anyone know what is considered "Safe" without sacrificing longevity, and what the max should be for daily use?

My brothers computer we just finished putting together, asus sabertooth z170 mobo, Corsair h115 AIO, 6700k.

His chip has achieved a stable OC at 4.7ghz at 1.34v over a 12 hour Aida64 stress, with max core temps never exceeding 67c. How does this compare to others out there? Is the 1.34v considered on the high end?

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

1.35 is fine for 24/7 use, so your friend is fine. Anything more is not recommended and anything over 1.45 is dangerous.

i have my I5 4690K at 1.335V and use that for daily use. i would not go over 1.35V for an OC you are going to use and over 1.4V is a no go basically

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)
