Nvidia Shadowplay vs AMD Gaming evolved

Both suck. I've not tried OBS yet, but Fraps and Mirillis Action both are far superior to Shadowplay and Gaming Evolved.

Come Bloody Angel

Break off your chains

And look what I've found in the dirt.

Pale battered body

Seems she was struggling

Something is wrong with this world.

Fierce Bloody Angel

The blood is on your hands

Why did you come to this world?

Everybody turns to dust.

Everybody turns to dust.

The blood is on your hands.

The blood is on your hands!

Its all in the settings. Last I saw, GE can hold up to the last 20mins of footage. Shadowplay should be similar.

But shadowplay is much easier to use.

Both suck? are you actually sure about that... i'd use Shadowplay over OBS any day. It can record in high quality and has little to no impact on performance. Shadowplay is now one of the easiest ways to record or stream.

Fraps is a system hog and records clips you then need to render due to the file size.

10,000% sure. I'd only use ShadowPlay with the lower end of the Core i5's.

I've not experienced any significant performance impact with OBS, Fraps, or Mirillis on my old A10-6800K build.

Use Plays.TV instead of Gaming Evolved app.

Both Plays.TV and Shadowplay have similar ease of use and performance hit but Shadowplay can record whole  desktop while Plays.tv only record whitelisted games.

For 1080p60 recording both is superior to OBS in term of performance hit and significantly easier to use. Video quality can be similar to OBS or slightly worst depend on your OBS settings.

Shadowplay need that bloatwarez Geforce Experience to work while Plays.tv come with a pretty lightweight client.

If you use Windows 10, the Xbox app DVR feature is a good alternative as well but only 1080p60 recoding max.

The Xbox DVR app is what everyone says hurts gaming performance though...

Shadowplay might not be flawless but when it's working, it works great.

Occasionally the app just stops working when you go to capture, it says starting capture, then finished almost instantly...which is weird. Then you just need a reboot.

It's the other way for me, with AMD card Plays.TV and XBOX DVR give similar performance hit or none compare to OBS+VCE/Mirilis+AMD APP/MSI Afterburner+VCE.

Same story with NVidia card but XBOX DVR get slightly more performance hit compare to ShadowPlay but totally negligible in my case.
