So i have a ADSL connection with about 10mb/s up and 1mb/s down and it has worked great for gaming, the only problem i had was the poor wireless range with my old router and that it would randomy stop working (no internet connection and i couldnt access it from my browser). So i did the logical thing and changed the old ISP router for a brand new Asus dsl ac68u and i worked great for about a day until i started getting these weird disconnects every few minutes (it can take 5 minutes to half an hour between downtimes). The downtime only lastes for about 25-40 seconds and after that it would work alright for until the next time it desides to disconnect me. At first i thought i was becuse i put to much load on the network or something becuse it would mostly happen when i was playing overwatch and talking to my friends on discord but now im not to sure becuse it started doing it when i was just playing skyrim.

I am using an homeplug to run the ethernet through my powerline but i have not had any problems with that solution.

This is what i have tried thus far:

1.) Restart my router (obviously)

2.) Reseting my homeplugs.

2.) Cutting power to my router so the ram i flushed

3.) Taking out the dsl plug and waiting 30 sec and pluging it back in.

and nothing is working : (

also there is no way that any of my network settings changed becuse i just whent to get food and when i came back i wasnt working.

I need all help i can get.

Thanks in advance!

Edit: The router is giving me an error saying that either my dsl cable or ethernet cable is unplugged even tho i know they are connected.

One thing i would try is lowering the MTU/MRU settings on the Modem. If it's set to 1500, try lowering it to 1450 or 1480. It might have a very small effect on the speed of your connection (I mean small), but it could be that the modem finds the line unstable and this may help. Otherwise your ISP can put a Stability profile on your line.

That and check the firmware of the Modem, could have an update :D
