S7 Edge vs Pixel XL

This upcoming Christmas I have an upgrade through my carrier. Cost in no issue. I have looked everywhere and I can't really seem to find an answer. I'm a high school student. I've found the Pixel to have a better software experience, battery life, and camera while the Edge has more bells and whistles (waterproof and edge screen) and has expandable storage. I can't decide.

S7e will have better battery life.

Camera I'd hand off to the Samsung as well.

The only real advantage to the Pixel is quick updates.

 

Personally I'd go S7e. Expandable storage is nice, the phone's quite a bit smaller, the edge has a nicer front facing camera, and has more aftermarket support.

That's what I tell myself. I really want to get the Pixel XL but I just can't justify it compared to the features of the S7e.

You could always use the excuse of "everything I buy from now on needs USB type C. ;)
