the 960 is better but if your going for more money per performance the 1050 is really good for that which is why i have it myself and getting in 1080p with medium/high and on some less graphically intensive games high/ultra like wow with abover 60+fps

How much is the GTX 960 going to cost you? The 1050 is slightly weaker, but it's infinitely better value. A GTX 960 4GB goes for about $180, right? Get an RX 470 instead. Paying the full price for that kind of performance is absurd at this point. I mean, the 1050 Ti beats it at $150, and the RX 470 is going to absolutely cream it.

well a 470 isn't that much more than a 1050, I don't think (the pricing is retarded this generation)

Edit: Using the woot site they have a rx sapphire rx 470 at the same price as the 1050 right now (it's on sale), so I'd grab that instead of the weaker 1050 (unless you really like team green that much ?)

Unless the pricing is screwed up in your country, get an RX470.  It's a huge jump in performance, for the same price/barely more expensive than the 1050ti.

For anyone that does not require a low power card (due to a weak PSU or a lack of PCI-E power connectors), the 1050's don't make any sense at all.  If you are just dropping it into a dell/hp/whatever prebuilt with another stick of ram to get your gaming fix, they make a lot of sense.

SFF-ish:  Ryzen 5 1600X, Asrock AB350M Pro4, 16GB Corsair LPX 3200, Sapphire R9 Fury Nitro -75mV, 512gb Plextor Nvme m.2, 512gb Sandisk SATA m.2, Cryorig H7, stuffed into an Inwin 301 with rgb front panel mod.  LG27UD58.

Aging Workhorse:  Phenom II X6 1090T Black (4GHz #Yolo), 16GB Corsair XMS 1333, RX 470 Red Devil 4gb (Sold for $330 to Cryptominers), HD6850 1gb, Hilariously overkill Asus Crosshair V, 240gb Sandisk SSD Plus, 4TB's worth of mechanical drives, and a bunch of water/glycol.  Coming soon:  Bykski CPU block, whatever cheap Polaris 10 GPU I can get once miners start unloading them.

MintyFreshMedia:  Thinkserver TS130 with i3-3220, 4gb ecc ram, 120GB Toshiba/OCZ SSD booting Linux Mint XFCE, 2TB Hitachi Ultrastar.  In Progress:  3D printed drive mounts, 4 2TB ultrastars in RAID 5.

I will definitely add that to my options thank you! I like team green a lot;) but I will consider this.

Avoid buying last-generation products brand new. If someone recommends it, don't listen to them unless the product in question is not too old and is like 60% off, and you already have compatible hardware.
