CPU Stock cooler?

JGalsky

Hello! I got a gift from a friend: x99 + 5820k without a cooler... I'm on an extremely low budget and I plan on getting a stock cooler since its very cheap and it works.  Will it fit?

It should fit, but it's not sufficient to cool that CPU properly.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT 16GB GDDR6 Motherboard: MSI PRESTIGE X570 CREATION
AIO: Corsair H150i Pro RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32GB 3600MHz DDR4 Case: Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic PSU: Corsair RM850x White

All I will be doing is some VR, no OCing, I'll also be fitting it in the node 202, I don't know what other cooler would fit in that case.

This is Intel's "stock" LGA 2011v3 cooler:

It's bigger than the regular, LGA 115X one cause LGA 2011v3 chips generate more heat.

The Noctua NH-L9i 33.8 CFM will fit and will be quite a bit better. Can't comment on if an Intel Stock cooler will work, because I know LGA 2011-3 has a different way of mounting than just holes.

If you're putting it in an M-ITX case are you going to to be using the AsRock X99E? There is a very limited selection of X99 boards in that form factor and the X99E uses the narrow ILM 2011 socket, which you should be aware of when choosing a cooler.
