Virus affecting performance

So in bf1 I get insane CPU usage even with a high end system like mine. I'm afraid there is a virus or malware in my pc. So in settings there is something called reset my pc and I want delete everything and start over. The question is is that will it delete everything including widows itself? I don't want to have to buy windows again and download it. I've tried running windows defender but I know it's not very effective. Pls help. Specs in signature below.

When you do the reset option it keeps Windows on the pc.

 

download malware bytes and run that, see if it can find anything. or use you're anti-virus and do a scan.

You dont have to buy it again. lol. Just install it and use your already bought key.

what is actually eating up all your cpu recourses? you should find that out first. try running malware bytes and something like kaspersky

Battlefield currently has a few issues causing high CPU usage. We may have to wait for a patch from DICE, if there is one.

What kind of CPU usage? Battlefield 1 is know to max out even i7's.

What makes you think the game has issues? What if it's just legitimately CPU heavy?

It can be reused on the same motherboard. If needed, you can contact Microsoft.

If you have no cpu bound license, you can use  it as often  you like.

There are various fixes online that have increased frame-rate in BF1 for very little reason aside from "it works". I've tested the fixes on my 4690K and 4790K and the fixes do their jobs on both. BF1 just has a few idiosyncrasies that can't be explained until DICE addresses it themselves.

If you're on windows 10 you don't even have to re enter your key, your mobo will have a 'digital entitlement' so you can reinstall as many times as you want and it will automatically activate. 

 

Like has been said  already though some games max out even modern i7's. Also do some malware checks before doing a reinstall/reset.

Ok will run some virus scans with different softwares. I've tried all of the fixes POSSIBLE and I don't think dice will fix this because the only thing they could really do is lower the graphics the game has to render but that might look worse. I feel like This is my system that is messing up because I'm YouTube benchmarks with the same specs people never have their CPUs go above 90% and in some maps mine is all the way to 95-100%. A fresh install is my only option.

Neither does my 4790K. I locked my frame-rate at 70 and my usage is about 66% unless I die from an broken building.

I like having the best fps possible, but I don't know why my usage is so high in bf1 because in gta v my usage never goes above 80%.

On the map Amiens what is your CPU usage? For the first two games my CPU usage is a dream and it never goes above 70% but after two games my CPU is at like 80-100%  do you think starting fresh will get rid of anything blocking my performance?

Why do you consider high CPU usage an issue? It just means your CPU is working hard, which it should be doing as you're playing a CPU intensive game. Just look at the processes that are using the CPU, and if it's BF1 having high CPU usage you're fine.

What fixes? I'm pretty sure it's a placebo.

You limited your framerate, hence the lower CPU usage. You unlimit it, the CPU will push as much frames as it can, so it''ll have high usage.

But people are having less CPU usage!!! With the same specs!!

What I'm worried about is that if games In the future keep getting CPU intensive like this my pc will get out of date real fast.

My CPU usage is in Game 45-75% depending on Mode, Map, Players. In Loadingscreens it goes up to 90%+. 

Just do a little cleaning. Run a anti virus tool, run spybot S&D, get rid of temporary files with CC Cleaner and see if something change.

And of course run a cpu benchmark, check its behaviour and observe the running processes.

Dude. The 6700k is a Killer CPU. You will not change it for Years.
