Hey sorry for the late reply, my crap lenovo was having problems *at school

Do i install the windows install thing on a USB? or should i use the same windows 8.1 disk that came with the windows product when i bought it  ??

thanks.

You already upgraded to windows 10, so you just use the windows media creation tool, run it, and it will put windows 10 on a USB drive.

You can't use the windows 8 disk.

Hey guys, I am about to purchase the new M.2 Samsung 960 250GB but i seem to be having a problem

Right now, i have a Samung 840 SSD installed with windows, I want to move the Windows to the M.2 and i want a clean windows installed.

How can i do that without buying a whole new Windows Key? Which i would REALLY hate. Since my windows was purchased as Windows 8.1, will it factory reset back to Windows 8.1?

I have figured out how to make the M.2 work and be recognised BUT.. i have not found a way to make windows install on the M.2

Please help dear linus forums

Thanks in advance,

Ryan.

When you took the free upgrade to windows 10 you should have registered an account with MS. Using the same motherboard you shouldn't have any issues using your MS account.

Windows 10 installation iso from MS

Unless you are replacing your motherboard, you don't need to do anything with any keys.

It will activate itself automatically when you install on the new SSD.
