Old comp to new Comp storage

Alright...I have an old computer running win 7 on some old hard drive. I recently got a new computer and installed win 8. What is the easiest way to transfer all my applications and files from my old win 7 computer to my new win 8 comp...(newer build has enough hard drive space for all my old data)

Windows Easy Transfer? (look in the start menu and start screen for it on both systems)

put an old harddrive in to new mobo and transfer without any problems?

@GoodBytes I was looking at Windows easy transfer but I was just wondering if it work from win7 --> win 8

@darksoulinside My computer's really old, and I would rather not meddle around in it as I got shocked hard twice just by trying to open up the case (I could see sparks come out lol) (I even touched somehting metal but there's so much static built up inside of it....and dust too ugh)
