Posted November 12, 2016 My work has had an old display laptop sitting in the back for a couple of years, and i am thinking of making an offer and trying to get it cheap, but it would help to get an idea of what it would be worth. It is a Alienware m14x,and the only specs i was able get from looking at it, is that it has an i5 2400u and a 750m. Now it does have 2 problems, they have lost the power cord(cheapo one is $12 on ebay,OEM is $35 on amazon),and the keyboard is missing a few keys($25 on ebay). What do you think it is worth, and what do you think is the most i should offer? | I7 2600@4.2Ghz | Corsair A70 w/H100 fans | 16GB DDR3 1333Mhz | MSI Z77A G45 Gaming | Corsair TX650 | XFX R9 380 | 2x 120GB Samsung 840 SSD in RAID 0 | 2x Seagate 500GB in RAID 0 | 750GB Seagate | 500GB WDHDD + 500GB WD USB HDD | Sound Blaster Recon | Antec Sonta Case | HP LP2480zx @1920x1200 | Acer H243H @1920x1080 | BenQ EW2440
 Posted November 12, 2016 Something of similiar specs but newer hardware, and at retail price is 500-600 USD. Since it's already going to need 60 USD fix, I'd say no more than 300 USD if that. Posted November 12, 2016 You can get nice brand-new 14" Haswell laptops with 1080p IPS screen for $300. So I'd be hard pressed to pay more than $100-$150 for this machine. Probably needs a new battery. So unless you're hooked on the cachet of the Alienware brand, its not worth much.
 Posted November 12, 2016 Canadian Prices, Skylake/Kabylake, Haswell/Broadwell all in i5 flavor. Remember that $1usd is worth $1.30cdn, or shave 70% to revert. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100006741 600003988 600567980 600567982 600568944 601214468&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&Order=PRICE&PageSize=36 Same only in Sandy/Ivybridge http://www.newegg.ca/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100006741 600003988 600567981 600567983&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&Order=PRICE&PageSize=36 Just Ivy aka 2000 series Intel CPU http://www.newegg.ca/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100006741 600003988 600003982 600003986 600567981&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&Order=PRICE&PageSize=36 So that means $200usd, minus the broken shit on your laptop. Slice another $100, so $100usd for that laptop is being generous. However the 750m GPU must add some value.
