Good air cooler?

Hello!

 

As you may or may not know, I'm building a PC soon, and I'm using a i5 6500 for the CPU

 

Does anyone recommend a good after market air cooler? I'm fine with the stock, its just that later on I'll probably switch it out for aesthetics. (Also the color scheme is black with a blue accent, the case is a NZXT S340)

 

Also what would be the recommended thermal paste?

For aesthetics, two great looking ones are the Cryorig H7 and the Raijintek Pallas. They're both great at cooling a stock CPU too (the pallas is better by some margin though, so if you want to keep it for OC later, that's the pick)

Cryorig H7. Performs a bit better than a 212 EVO and is will fit in as it has black plate on it.

Deepcool Gammaxx is decent

It has BLUE LEDS tho

The Gammaxx 300 has a blue fan with no LEDs and would be more than capable of cooling a 6500.

The stock cooler isn't that far from black/blue in the first place. A bit of black spray paint should be enough to make it pretty clean. 

Most coolers come with decent paste already.
