freenas freeNas problems

i have tried creating a freenas boot device,but UUI told me there was no config file.

i used the freenas stable download.my usb-drive is 7gigs

it did not give any errors,but when i start it on my server,it says

error: your cpu does not implement AMD64 architecture.

error: you need to load the kernel first.

i created a freeNAS usb stick,but when i boot on it my server says this:

well thats your problem. This is the newest version of freeNAS that is 32bit https://download.freenas.org/9.2.1.9/RELEASE/x86/

FreeNAS does not support 32bit CPUs. You need a CPU that support 64bit in order to use FreeNAS. What hardware you running FreeNAS on?

Dude it looks like youve not checked the minimum specs or really scoped out what you need for freenas. Maybe take a step back and look at what youre trying to do first?

use the dd image mode, not iso mode and download the image.

I highly advise against running FreeNAS on 32bit hardware, let alone an intel Atom. 

Even if you had gotten FreeNAS running on 32bit, you would not be able to use ZFS as it inherently doesn't not support 32bit.

If you have read over the FreeNAS minimum requirement, you would of noticed that you should have a recommended minimum of 8GB. 

 

I would recommend Nas4Free. It has a min requirement of 4GB and is similar to FreeNAS. 

If you're looking to try FreeNAS in this manner, the best way to do it is by running it in a VM.

Go download Nas4Free. It's a fork of FreeNAS that still supports 32bit and UFS.

If you  still want to use freenas I recommend the asrock c2550d4i or the asrock c2750d4i motherboard if you're going do use it as a plexserver or run some VMs. 

I have the 2750 and it works great, and it has 12 SATA ports on a mini ITX board! And it Suppports ECC memory.
