I'm currently in planning stage of building a new PC, a definite upgrade from the 6-year-old brick of a laptop I currently own. My budget is $2000 USD and the PC will be used mainly as a gaming rig with minor workstation use. I can go over my budget but I would prefer not to. Below is my current part list:

PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/vZ8Xnn
Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/vZ8Xnn/by_merchant/

CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($328.99 @ SuperBiiz)
CPU Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3 67.8 CFM Fluid Dynamic Bearing CPU Cooler  ($59.90 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: Asus Z170-DELUXE ATX LGA1151 Motherboard  ($282.98 @ Newegg)
Memory: Kingston Savage 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory  ($214.51 @ Amazon)
Storage: Western Digital BLACK SERIES 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($69.00 @ B&H)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 8GB FTW Gaming ACX 3.0 Video Card  ($669.99 @ B&H)
Case: Corsair Carbide 400C ATX Mid Tower Case  ($97.49 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: Corsair RMx 550W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply  ($96.90 @ B&H)
Total: $1819.76

I'm looking at getting either a 960 PRO or EVO m.2 SSD when those get released. Also, the computer will be run on a 1080p monitor and no extra peripherals will be bought with this. I would like feedback on this list: any complications it may have, better/cheaper parts, etc. :)

Get a 2tb hitatchi drive for cheaper than the wd black (it is 7200rpm as well), don't get the asus deluxe board but instead grab the asus z170A. Finally, I wouldn't suggest a m.2 drive because they are literally double the price per capacity compared to sata based ssds, honestly the extra speed won't be the best if you don't have room for stuff.

Edit: use the savings to get a 1440p 144hz monitor, this will make games look better but will also give you a smother gameplay.

8086k Winner BABY!!

Do you have any suggestions for a 1440p monitor? (My desk space is small but it won't affect the size I can have much)

if you are doing a black and white build - go for the nzxt s340 white or h440 white - also, the cooler for a black and white build could be either a corsair h115i or h100i v2 or the cryorig A80 which looks amazing and actually cools better

colours match nicely - you could save 50 dollars and get the glossy white and black instead of matte white and black case - psu allows for expansion and the liquid cooler is one of the nicest looking in my opinion

I might buy the Dell S2417DG which is a 1440p G-Sync monitor if I save up some more. I feel like this is the build but I'm still up to suggestions.
