Defrag SSD

so a few months i was told that defragging my SSD would help my computers performance, since then ive been told quite a few times how much of an idiot i am for doing it as it can harm the SSD. Thoughts?

Never defrag a SSD.

yea, defraging an SSD, bad idea :(

It puts the data "in line" on the hard drive so it can read it faster so doing it to a SSD is useless.

Never EVER defrag an SSD!

Exactly, its completely useless and you are just consuming more write cycles, wearing out the drive quicker and shortening its life-span.

Win7 automatically recognizes SSDs and sets the auto defrag to 'never' as default for SSDs. Thats smart. :D
