Need a Manual overclcoking guide.

R8ge

Ok so basically I'm trying to get 4.5 ghz out of my a 10 7700k on the msi a88xm board.  I need this overclock stable because I am getting a vive for Christmas and amd has approved a 7850 or something like that for VR.  So I need to overclock to get as much preformance as I can.  This is also so I can reduce my bottleneck on my rx 480 because I made bad decisions when I bought a prebuilt then rebuilt it.  So what should I do with voltages and such.  My system hangs on anything above 4 ghz.  Oc genie doesn't work on gear two either.  I'm thinking the auto voltage settings are bad so should I leave it on auto or adjust it manual.  I don't know what is going to give me a stable overclock.  I'm running at 4ghz but I'm looking for more preformance with out spending any money.  I plan on getting zen or an i5 6500 next year.  Which will mark that I owned my cpu for 2 years.

with my a8-7650k im able to get it stable at 4.5 if i up the voltage to 1.45 volts.

Youre betting doing this through bios rather than through a program by the way.

Oh yeah I'm in bios.  But it my CPU 4.4 ghz has 1.5 v on auto and it hangs as soon as I get into windows.  I don't know f a decrease in voltage would fix that.

1.5 seems a little high, try turning off auto voltage and lowering it to 1.45 and see if it gets any further.
