So today i finally got my Corsair CX450M to upgrade from my modecom feel 500w. I checked the Voltages and the 12v was at around 12.2v but on my modecom feel it was 11.9v. Also the VBAT is 2v lower than on my modecom. Are the voltages good?

Use a multimeter to check the voltage of the 12V line the software usually is not very accurate, for a good PSU it really shouldn't go higher than -/+0.1V

i dont have a multimeter

well, as stated, software solutions really arn't that accurate. to be 100% sure, a multimeter is required. though seeing as this is a new unit, it should really be fine.

The problem I have with poking with a multimeter is what line do you poke? Because where in the chain is HWMonitor measuring from?

You also can't poke the output from the 24-pin connector (or the 8-pin CPU one) and call it a day. You must put a load on it. A broken power supply can happily supply the correct open circuit voltage but once you put a load on it, it may go "nope!" It's the same principle with batteries. Go poke a "dead" battery with a multimeter, you'll find it'll still output the rated voltage.

HWmonitor, AIDA, etc, can't actually measure voltage on a software basis. This is why Asus Anti-surge is dumb.

Just get the proper hardware to measure voltage and you'll be fine.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
