144hz Gaming on a Budget: Thoughts?

Trav_X

Made for the sole purpose of playing eSports titles like CS, Rocket League, Overwatch, LoL, Smite, etc. at 1080p 144hz. The monitor will go next to my current 34" 2560x1080 34UM58-P using a dual monitor stand. Buying the parts from Newegg and MicroCenter, and the GPU on eBay (it's a lightly used card from a very highly rated and reputable seller). This is what I think will be the best 144hz experience under $900 USD. Already own the case and RAM. Any thoughts? Went 970 over 1060 cause it's better in terms of price/performance for the money I'm paying for it.

Upgrade path consists of maybe upgrading to a 240mm radiator eventually, to overclock that 4690k. The M9i is a cheap $20 placeholder that performance on par with a 212 EVO, might be able to push some OC on that. Eventually would like new speakers as well.

why haswell? buying used?

Just because I already own ram and to save money. I tried doing Skylake build but the costs are quite a bit higher.
