Simultaneous Thunderbolt and Discrete graphics

I have an Asus motherboard with dual thunderbolt connections.  I have an Apple display attached to one of the thunderbolt ports and a Dell display attached to the DVI port of a Geforce GTX 770. The setup works perfectly.  I can't seem to wrap my head around what is happening when I drag a window from one display to the other.  For example, if a window is half on one display and half on the other is each videocard drawing 1/2 of the window? If i start Team Fortress 2 in windowed mode and drag it between screens theoretically is my performance dropping on the 1/2 a window on the integrated graphics window? Hopefully this isn't a completely stupid question.

Welcome to the Forums! :D

I don't seem to understand what your question is but I'll give it a shot.

As far as I know you wont be drawing anything from the integrated and the GPU is still the one doing all the computations.

If I remember correctly, the iGPU is doing all the work on the Thunderbolt port side, and the discrete card is doing all the rendering on the monitor it's hooked up to. As for Team Fortress, the discrete card is probably doing all the calcuations and simply passing them onto the iGPU when moving the windows.
