You have a point. Though there could be some workarounds such as mapping the D on the C or simply explaining where to put what, OP can even go as far as setting the SSD as a cache drive for the HDD and thus simply boosting the system's performance for the most used applications (which may be the internet browser, the e-mail client and maybe some media playing applications).
