Buying a GTX 1070 what CPU should i buy provided im planning on overclocking

My mobo died recently, i was planning on upgrading when i got my new 1070 anyways. However, I'm not sure what motherboard/cpu combo to get to prevent a bottleneck. A couple things i have to consider: price (I plan on overlocking the CPU so i would like to save some cash on the CPU) and black friday is coming up (any places i should be watching besides newegg and amazon for sales?).

Thanks in advanced.

I would suggest a i5-6600k.

Any recent (current) quad core i5 and up would do fine

System: i7 4790K, Hyper 212 EVO, 16 GB Crucial Ballistix, GTX 1070 Super clocked, MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition, Corsair RM 750, Corsair 750D (with 2 additional 140mm NZXT fans up top for exhaust.)

So i shouldn't even consider an AMD cpu? Also should i get a k series i5? or regular? because i have a 240m cooler master water cooler for the CPU and i want to make the best of it.

if you have a z series motherboard then buy the 6600k

AMD isn't good right now because they haven't released high end chips in about 4 years.

Only if you are on an extreme budget the lower end amd athlons and such are good value, but the 8xxx/9xxx series are 5 years old now, and a 6600k will be better even in mutithreaded once overclocked.

Whats the difference between a 1150 i5 4690k and a 1151 i5 6600k they are priced similarly and have similar specs, the big difference in the mobo prices. Whats the deal here?

Also is upgrading from DDR3 to DDR4 really that big a deal?
