7th Gen Intel Desktop Processor Release?

So, I was intending on buying a 6700k, but after seeing intel has already released 7th mobile processors I was wondering when they might release the 7700k? Any ideas?

Last I heard it was sometime in Q1 2017. But there's no point in waiting.

Why? the new processes like the i5 7600k have a 1% performance gain!
