Removing the 900D latch/handle

Hey guys, I own a 900D and I'd like to paint the latch/handle that is used to move the bottom side panel to paint it. Anyone done this before? If so, I'd like to know how you took it out and put it back in. This is the one I'm talking about. Thanks

Looks like it is just clipped into place from the backside of the panel, should be able to carefully press it out.
