Computer help

RussellNewHope

I have an older laptop, I want to do a factory reset on it. I Turn the laptop on press F10 and tell it to get it to reboot from a rest disk that I got with the computer. A few time it showed the loading bar goes to a black screen with the mouse pointer. I can not get it to reboot. Is there something I am doing wrong or is it a hardware issue? please help.

are you sure f-10 is the key? try f-12 or backspace. On my old laptop it's f-12 for one time boot

sorry if i'm underestimating your abilities, but did you try re-ordering the boot order from BIOS?

Yes but still getting the black screen with mouse point. It is cool I can not think of anything else. I am not the best tech but I am still learning and do not everything. I am really new to working on computers, I fail in love with it about a year ago.
