Posted November 5, 2016 I have an older laptop, I want to do a factory reset on it. I Turn the laptop on press F10 and tell it to get it to reboot from a rest disk that I got with the computer. A few time it showed the loading bar goes to a black screen with the mouse pointer. I can not get it to reboot. Is there something I am doing wrong or is it a hardware issue? please help. Posted November 5, 2016 are you sure f-10 is the key? try f-12 or backspace. On my old laptop it's f-12 for one time boot

Posted November 5, 2016 Author Yes but still getting the black screen with mouse point. It is cool I can not think of anything else. I am not the best tech but I am still learning and do not everything. I am really new to working on computers, I fail in love with it about a year ago. Posted November 5, 2016 It's been so long since I had a Vista machine, I used something very similar to this as a guide, I'd try to do it without the disk. https://neosmart.net/wiki/restore-to-factory-settings/
