I am looking to get a 450w psu for my fx4300 and rx470 (many calculator websites Recommend 329w for my setup). Is the antec vp-450 a good buy and will it have enough cords to support my ssd, hdd, CD-ROM, CPU, gpu, etc. thanks!

look at ur psu specs to find this info but usually i prefer to keep a min of 500w

well i have a rx480 and an i76700 on a 430w psu, never have any issues

Well I ask because tom'shardware or hardware secrets.com likes it but it falls under the standard of $1 per 10w rule. It's a 450w on sale for $35 at amazon

Yep a 450 w should be enough just choose a psu at least tier 3 or higher to ensure the quality

Since you don't, I wouldn't really worry about the lack of sleeving.

However, I'd probably spend a little more. For $59 there are extremely solid units available.

No, I just figured that if the case had a window, sleeved cabling would be more desirable.

However since the inside of the case is bare metal anyway...not a huge issue.

I'd seriously spend the extra $25 no a significantly better PSU though. When it comes down to it that's just 2 meals at a fast food joint, and you're getting something exponentially better than the Antec unit, and you can take it with you to your next build.

Makes sense. So... would a corsair 450w cxm be a more ideal candidate over the antec? BTW I leave for collage in a year so I'll leave this pic behind. My younger brother will inherit this pic and he will not want to upgrade aside from MAYBE more ram. If hardware secrets.com recommends antec for simple builds, could I squeeze antec in? The Seasonic G 550w is $59. I'd get that.

 

I wouldn't trust the Antec unit. I've had 3 less-than-ideal PSU's die on me. I've never had a quality unit fail.
