What you want is headphones, headsets are headphones with a mic built it. The audio technica m50x's are a good choice

Yep, those are a great choice. However I love my M40X's. If you want to save a little money and especially if you want portability (M40X's fold up while the M50X's don't) they are a great choice, as the two have basically the same sound quality.

So, just a headphone?

If this is for gaming, then it has to be comfortable, have good soundstage. Try sennheiser hd598, they are very comfortable and have great separation. But you should mind that they lack bass and are open-back, so you will hear everyone and everyone will hear your sound.

If you can find takstar pro-80, then you are the lucky one. It's just a kingston hyperx cloud 2, but with no microphone, closed-back and have powerful bass.

Hi! Im wondering if someone can recommend a headset that does not have a microphone. I will be using the headset for my computer, playing games etc. I have no budghet, so just throw recommendations at me!

Thanks!

what is with people recommending m50s

they are garbage for gaming especially first person gaming

horrible soundstage, overwhelming bass which hurts postional sound

if you get new earcups they are more comfortable but that is subjective

does op want open or closed headphones

open leaks sound and lets in sound to and from surroundings

closed isolates sound and lets in less  from surroundings

The signal is more important than the actual headphones you can get positions using 7 dollar earbuds. look you can have your opions and share your opions but dont try to enforce your audiophile religion on people who can't afford it. he's on a budget he doesn't need the perfect "Sound Stage" he just needs something to plug into his computer to create sound for him for a low price.

Thank you for bringing some sense to this topic. Everything said other what what you said is just bad advice and false.

No, no budget as in he can spend anything (which probably isn't true)

i get the way you're interpreting but the way its written means he has no money for it and he just needs a pair. but he could've just forget a word so we should just wait for the op to clarify which he meant and if his budget is limitless just get http://en-de.sennheiser.com/sennheiser-he-1. after that you win all the audiophile points.

no budget means no spending limit

no budget means that yes but he said "i have no budget" which means something different. but if its really a unlimited budget just get  the sennheiser orpheus. and get it gold plated.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

From personal experience, I'd recommend Audio Technica ATH M30x or M40X, depending on how much money you want to spend. If you can afford neither, there's also the M20X which are still very good.
